The transfer of such children to the Compass Montessori School lower elementary classroom does not create or imply eligibility for these children to graduate with peers who are already considered Kindergarten. Graduation ceremonies are only for children who have been considered Kindergarten based on the State of California age limits for the current school year. Transitional Kindergarten children who have been with the school’s elementary program have to repeat a second year of kindergarten to be considered to graduate. The Montessori curriculum is designed to follow the child, thus children who are in transitional kindergarten will also be exposed to the same philosophy. When children display advanced learning, the classroom teacher will continue to give lessons that may be beyond their grade level if they were in a traditional school setting. A child who is in transitional kindergarten may be sitting down to a kindergarten lesson or beyond, but we will not consider such children as kindergarten or first grade. They are merely receiving lessons that they are ready for in an advanced learning environment.TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN & KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM: PARENT INITIALCONSENT AND INDEMNIFICATIONParents hereby give permission for the Student to take part in all School activities, including, without limitation, use of play structures and equipment.
